I'm a small town Minnesota girl (no really, a population of 200 people is where I grew up). I have a passion for animals and have grown up with pets from horse to hamster. I won't even start talking about the fact that I used to breed snails and fish for a little middle school spending money! I have a son who is my pride and joy, we spend our days laughing until we can't breathe anymore. He is 5 and loves to keep me on my TOES. I have a small business called Mama Nurture where I sell all Minnesota Nature themed products including candles and kids shirts, it has become my second outlet for creativity! I'm an overly obsessive plant mom (my room literally looks like Bachmann's), a sunset chaser and moon watcher. I love road trips to cute AirBNB's with a fire playlist and the windows open. You'll never see me turning down a cup of coffee, I've worked as a barista for almost 10 years and love every hungover, sleepy, relationship building customer that comes with it. I'm a loud shower singer, a dog movie crier, and I can make a mean homemade Crunchwrap (HECK YAA). I just moved to the Owatonna area into a cute little A Frame on the river, which I am curating to be the perfect space for photoshoots in the future. My passion is capturing memories for your family to look back on, and feel as though you are still in that moment. You can hear the breeze, smell the flowers, and feel your cheeks still sore from laughing.
My goal when photographing you is to capture your real life. The laughs, the cries (hopefully happy tears), and all of the other genuine moments. When you pose for your photos in a picture perfect stiff barbie pose, that is not a photo capturing what life is like for you at that point in time! That is soooo staged, almost like a vague and happy social media post of your fake life. NAHHH, I'm not here for that! The small moments between the posing are where I find the real you comes out. The look between mom and dad when the kids are actually getting along, the reaction of your significant other whispering how hot you look in your nice outfit, or the raw moments of looking at your baby while you are still at the hospital and your adrenaline is still raging through you. I'm here for the real and raw moments, because in all honesty, I sit at my computer tearing up while I edit your photos. I am THAT girl.
My editing style purposely made to feel as though your photo is a distant, but happy memory. Golden, vibrant, and moody tones bring out the feeling of the past, almost a dream of what things were like during that time of your life. Vintage, memory-like vibes are thrown into my editing style on purpose! Life brings the unexpected, sometimes it saddens you and sometimes it overjoys you. Memories change, families change, and feelings change. Next year doesn't promise the same life as right now does, so don't wait!
